No less than a third of Greeks work in the public sector, and march out on strike over anything and everything.

Why should the rest of Europe subsidise a bunch of bolshie communists?
Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ here

          Why?

If the Euro included Germany, Holland, Denmark, Luxembourg, Czech Republic and Austria, rather like a new ‘Hanseatic league’ everything would be fine. Just chuck out all the plebs and we Germanic types can dominate ze vurld!

Oh, sorry, just had a fit of the Teutonic gene syndrome there.

Fortunately some nations didn't adopt the Euro, so would seem to be in a slightly better position, eh AtW?

A new Germanic empire, I'm sure that would be welcomed by the rest of the world

Keep it teetering on the brink and take advantage of Euro weakness to export more.
