    SC clearance progress

My clearance application is being processed by employer, but my contract may end before the clearance comes through..

Can i check the progress of my sc clearance application anywhere?

If i leave the company before i get the clearance, is there a way to know i got cleared?

    Thanks!

Congratulations! You have managed to come up with a NEW question on security clearance.

For finding out when the process has completed, either:

    - your place of work will have a branch security officer (or some such) to whom you gave your clearance form; ask them to tell you when it has come through

    or

    - your agency is arranging it and their security manager will be able to tell you when it has come through.

As for the progress: it will be "In someone's in-tray". You won't get a straight answer (they won't tell you what their processes are so they can't tell you where they are up to.)

How critical is the compilation of work to your client?

In the past I've taken a few weeks off during a contract and extended the contract by the same amount if ever I thought my contract would end without somewhere else to jump to. I've only done this once.... it might give you the extra time you need.

Think you can contact the DVA and ask about it yourself. I think most likely it will be granted, but if you' have left the company when it's granted the 12 month countdown will start.
The company I think can stop the clearance process but doubt they'll even think about that when you leave. The paperwork is in the system and most likely a result will be produced (cleared or uncleared). Still, at least if you fail you won't have to do the walk of shame when being escorted off site

So if you do leave the company, contact the DVA to ask about it at a time when you think by then the clearance should have been granted. Don't contact them early in case they stop the process because you are no longer working for x company
