The only thing that can save us now is finding shed loads of oil in the Falklands.

There's oil in my shed in the Midlands. About 5 litres of Mobil 1 I think.

I believe under Civil Contingencies legislation, Peter Mandelson is allowed to use his powers of necromancy to bring Harold Macmillan back to life and put things back on track.

Since when have oil revenues helped us. It is not where the oil is but who gets it out of the ground gets the benefit plus the speculators. We, the UK have water, is that cheap?

Oil from North Sea was good for export, and cheaper oil could have been bought for UK needs. Often where there is oil there can be gas - so now UK has to import gas and pay £££, not good for balance of payments.
