Tracy Residents Now Have To Pay For 911 Calls

Tracy [California, USA, Earth, SOL, Orion Arm, Milky Way, Local Group, Virgo Supercluster, Visible Universe] residents will now have to pay every time they call 9-1-1 for a medical emergency.

But there are a couple of options. Residents can pay a $48 voluntary fee for the year which allows them to call 9-1-1 as many times as necessary.

Or, there's the option of not signing up for the annual fee. Instead, they will be charged $300 if they make a call for help.

Residents will soon receive the form in the mail where they'll be able to make their selection. No date has been set for when the charges will go into effect.

I've only called 999 once, and that was to get the police and ambulance to deal with a 'jumper' I discovered.

Who cares? Let the septics sort it out if they are so wonderful.

I prefer to leave it until the title of the individual becomes 'fallen' - why spoil their fun?

I call 999 all the time - I come across so many accidents on the motorway, items blocking the fast lane etc, then again, I average around 50K per year on the most agressive motorway in the UK.......

Well if they bring charges in over here, you could always put 999 on your 'friends and family' cheap rate - plus free emergency calls at weekends
