    New boiler quote

    Hey learned chaps

Sorry if this is a total off topic thread.

I have been told I need to replace my combi boiler ( its leaking water) and the plumbing guy has quoted 1500 plus VAT. He mentioned that the boiler is unsafe ( he serviced it 4 years ago..hmm). He could be trying to force me into a quick decision by saying that the boiler is unsafe.

So what do you lot suggest?
    1) Get another guy to take a look.
    2) The quote looks good and I should take it.

    Advice ?

£1500 is in the right ball park for a new boiler depending on the make and model you get. If you're worried get a second opinion anyway but dont hang about.

          Not really.

Wife seems happy in the relationship.

Not sure if boiler temperament is related to relationship in the house.

Not serviced. I forgot about the boiler since it was working a treat.

Okay, thanks. He did open up the boiler and found the chamber rusted and so decided it was unsafe.

Hmmm, well think of it a three really expensive services and a new (fully guaranteed) boiler.

Don't people fix things anymore? I find it hard to believe that a leak cant be fixed somehow?

I recently replaced the rear bearing and felt front on my tumble dryer, total cost £15 and good for another 10 years.
