Given EO's past form I thought this was going to be another thread about the after-effects of a vindaloo

          funny you should mention that

The bit about the cane toads in Australia was interesting, a few were brought in to eat the beetles that were ravaging the sugar cane crop. After a few years they checked to see if they were succeeding and whether they represented a threat to the indiginous wildlife. The results were positive so a load more cane toads were imported.

Then when it was too late, they realised that the toads were not actually much good at scoffing the beetles, but they were particularly good at scoffing native ozzie species.

Did we learn nothing from the Grey Squirrels?
Oh, I’m sorry….I seem to be lost. I was looking for the sane side of town. I’d ask you for directions, but I have a feeling you’ve never been there and I’d be wasting my time.

Yeh, how to kill red squirrels.
Cooking doesn't get tougher than this.

If the flies get out of hand we could always import millions of something that eats them, perhaps redback spiders or army ants.

Didn't we import some echidna to get rid of them?
