    Watching it all over again, starting here;

    Watched it as a child. Still as brilliant as ever.

      Ah, Professor Kermie. A sad loss.

      Try this one...Sagan combined with Pink Floyd and a stunning bit of video.

        I watched "The Ascent of Man" last year. Bit heavy going in parts.
        How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

            What first got me interested in science when I was about 8 years old was Sagan´s bendy map with two little pillars to show how Eratosthenes deduced that the earth is round. Look at that; two of humanity's most brilliant minds in one sentence.

              I have it on DVD here, I never saw it before. First class television.
              While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

                That bit when he's crouching in the pond at Auschwitz, and reaches beneath the surface to pull up a handful of ashes which could contain fragments of his own family (a number of whom were murdered there), and cradles them in his hands as he continues to talk to camera about that grossest of all abuses of mankind's technological capabilities...

                    And yes he was part of D'Ream and did 'Things can only get better ...'
