    Alistair Darling's budget la-la land

PLEASE watch this Liam had got this 100% right.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Private Eye have been banging on about that for a while now. All the PFI deals to provide shiny new schools and hospitals will be a millstone around the country's neck for years to come and that is before taking the public sector pension liabilities into account.

He is right, it is all very depressing.

Alistair Darling's job with this budget is not to spook the public and convince them that the worst is now over and then Labour stand a good chance of re-election.

Darling won't be Chancellor after the election, whichever party wins, and he knows it. The tulip hitting the fan will not be his problem.

Impossible (to my mind at least) to disagree with any of that.
