Started a new gig last week and....

...the bogs are a seventies throwback and the coffee from the vending machine, although cheap at 15p, is absolute crap.

    People are friendly though.

Shagpile carpet and velour to wipe. What's not to like?

The coffee problem can be solved. It may seem expensive but it's a lot cheaper than 3 months of thrice daily starbucks.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

The bogs in the Capital Radio building on Leicester Square are (or were) of very poor quality, but the coffee is free

I used to comfort myself with the thought that Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, when doing his show for Classic FM a couple of floors down (yes, the bogs were the same), was either suffering as I was or was holding it in

I hate instant coffee - wont drink the stuff, so as long as there is access to a kettle, I take in my own cafetiere and coffee and am a happy piggy. I drink it, strong and black with no sugar, so no need for milk and such.
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

indeed. When I was contracting, those were the two indicators of whether the contract was going to be a duff'n.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Same as my gig, except they don't have a vending machine. The first cup of tea there in the morning tastes like ditch water as the water has been left in the encrusted old kettle all night. (The first thing I do now in the morning is refill it with fresh water.)

That's the first thing I do EVERYTIME I make a cup of coffee - unless its just boiled of course

Apparantly you get really crusty coffee if someone chooses to have soup before you, not that it has happened to me yet.
