    Bizarre facial make-up

Has anyone noticed a fashion for bizarre face make-up? It's just that I was playing with video I took at a motorcycle gathering and noticed the face tracking software didn't lock on this group.

So was wondering if the fashion is designed to defeat face following cameras and the like. Like some wear hoodies so cameras can't see who they are on the street.

Or it is just something that happens?

I think the style Halo was thinking of is called Ganguro.

      Here is an example.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

There was a bit about this in Tracks (Arte program) and they called it Kawaii which is more to do with cuteness but an offshoot which looks interesting is this...

There are so many fascinating sub cultures in Japan and they all target certain areas in Tokyo.

I had a lot of fun just people watching when I was over there.

Oddly enough a local lass here used to dress like the latter, but with more colour and shape. Since she acquired a fella she's started wearing more normal clothes, which is a pity.
