    Shutter Island

Watched that this afternoon. Not bad.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

I saw it the other week, I agree it's not bad, it would have been better with another actor as lead though.
For a modern American thriller it does a very creditable job of not totally telegraphing the important points.
Interesting story, but I don't recommend seeing it with a friend who's barely recovered from a depressive breakdown like I did.

I've just downloaded Descent 2 to watch tonight. Let's hope it's as good as the first.

Still waiting for a subtitled version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoos

Hmm, I'll look into Shutter Island.

Didn't you see it? It's been on in UK cinemas the last two weeks. Very good! I loved the books and wasn't disappointed by the movie.

Shutter Island I liked very much. I didn't see any problem with Leonardo Dicaprio in the lead.

But agree, don't see it with anyone suffering from or recovering from mental illlness

I prefer my own cinema, in which smoking is allowed.

Also, by "waiting" I meant checking in vuze every now and then to see if it has been uploaded.

I'm now able to go into a cinema and not be bothered that I can't "smoke" since I indulge my nicotine addiction without burning tobacco these days
I'm happy to say I don't miss the cancer sticks one tiny bit now I use a nifty electronic device as my nicotine delivery method.

You mean you just don't like Leo, or that he's just not right in this film? I think he's becoming quite a good actor as long as you aren't blinkered by Titanic... Gangs of New York & Catch me if You can for instance... plus I have a big sweet spot for The Quick & the Dead.

I don't like Leo especially, I don't find his stuff particularly believable.
I do agree he's a lot better than he was, but as an actor I'm not impressed by him.

The film was well made with good suspense which is badly absent in most "thrillers" these days and the story rather powerful and quite disturbing. I don't regret paying for the ticket

Read the book so I imagine it's not worth seeing the film, but the book is good!

I'm almost universally disappointed if I've read a book then see it later on film.
