Are we going to get a darn election?

Aren't we expecting an announcement today if it's to be on the 6th May as expected? Or is tomorrow when the announcement would be made? Wish they'd hurry it up so it's out of the way before summer holidays!

I know you are on tentahooks but he can wait until next Monday at the latest to call an election on May 6th.

We all know that they are skint so the campaign is going to be the shortest ever.

I was wondering about this ... I remember in the old days say the 80s they both started the General Election campaign MONTHS before the actual day of the ballot. Something smells fishy here Baldrick ... I think that democracy has been compromised and sold down the river !

I was just checking up on my incumbent MP's voting record on www.theyworkforyou.com - interesting....

Voted very strongly for the Iraq war.
Voted strongly for an investigation into the Iraq war.
Voted moderately against Labour's anti-terrorism laws.

Voted against removing hereditary peers from the House of Lords.
Voted strongly for a wholly elected House of Lords.

Voted a mixture of for and against introducing a smoking ban.

Voted a mixture of for and against a transparent Parliament!!!

Also 'sponsored' by KPMG and Deloitte's. Handy for the Shadow Chancellor.

They'd never be able to hold a modern voter's attention for MONTHS. It's going to be a nightmare keeping anyone interested for a couple of weeks these days.

I don't understand why he's waiting until the last possible minute to announce it.

Granted - he doesn't want to announce it too early, but it's not like there's been any doubt regarding the date, so why not hop along to the palace and get it over with.

If I was Gordon Brown I think I'd announce it for the week later for no other reason than to annoy all the people that are "certain" it's going to be May 6th.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Because for Brown, requesting a dissolution is like stepping off a platform with a rope round his neck.

                    We will get our day.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
