    SAP Netweaver

As we all know, the future is in .net.

However, anybody working with SAP netweaver? Any consideration about future prospect for this software?

Do you need to come from a SAP mainstream background or would be it sufficient to come from any EAI/BPM environment?
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.

    Ask Milan.

From what little I know, it's been around for a while and is a combination of technologies like XI, so you would probably specialise in an area of NW. It would help to come from an EAI background but it would help more to come from a SAP background.

My SAP background is 10 years out of date now but I would have fancied getting to XI (or NW now) had I not been making such good profits in my current field

In Noddyland, yes, it's all about .net

Meanwhile, in the real world, the big boys mostly use SAP and so there is and will continue to be demand for SAP skills. I heard of a case recently where a SAP consultant was being paid £900 a day. And I know for certain that's true, although not because it was me. I wish it was.

Milan has nothing to do with SAP. He only does .Net day and night. If you need to know something about .net he's available but he knows nuffin about the rest.

we have a certain code of ethics in the .net area, one of them being we do not discuss .net in public

The first rule of a .net club is that we never talk about .net clubs

Don't bother. ,net is dead these days.

And as for Platypus - Please don't promote such propaganda about our rates. I think you meant 900 rupees a day.

To get into SAP, you have to have SAP experience. Most people got into it through either working for an enduser who decided to implement it, or being an employee of a SAP consultancy/offshorer who took on trainees. I do SAP BW and ECC with strong development skills.

If the exchange rates continue to plummet, then the best chance of getting £900 a day is to find a european contract...
