I just got an email for a job in Germany requiring FORTRAN skills. What would a youngster like me know about FORTRAN? I pm'd it to zeity although it's probably a bit too cutting edge for him.

      1. What role are you looking for?

      Chief bottle washer.

      2. What are your key skills and how many years experience do you have using these skills?

Gift of the gab. All my life.

      3. What are your key achievements in recent roles? (e.g. have you saved your company time or money?)

I cut out the middle man (i.e. agent)

      4. Which locations are you prepared to work in (If these require you to relocate please specify)?

      Somewhere with decent weather.

      5. What package are you seeking (including minimum salary requirement)?

      That depends on the location.

      6. What is the reason for leaving your current role?

Who said I'm leaving? But everyone has their price. Try making me an offer I cannot refuse.

      7. Which companies or industries would you like to work for/in?
      8. Which companies has your cv been submitted to?
      9. Which companies have you interviewed with so far & what position and what has been their feedback?

      None of your business.

      10. Are there any companies you would like to work for again?

      Yes.

Fairly standard email, I get at least 1 like that a month and often one a week. They've been a common sight for at least the last decade as far as I'm concerned.

They continue to send this type of thing out as there are plenty of people who haven't wised up to the fact that the agents are just on a fishing trip, are unlikely to ever have any work for them and fall for it.

Well I'm going to Naaarwich tomorrow, so if these agents send me one, they can hang on tenterhooks until I get back.
