It is true that British society collectively is now more stupid than it has been for a few centuries. This is reflected in popular culture, the deification of celebrities, crass materialism, living off the past leading to a sense of entitlement and unjustified superiority, a lack of economic common sense both collectively and personally ...

Airport scanners, X-ray machines, MRI machines, ultrasound. And lots of other scanning technologies - bridge structural scanning, scanning the contents of a bottle to detect if it's not what it should be (I worked with a company doing this).

Anything to do with aerodynamics (ok engineering cross-over here).
