Well, don't moan when the government raises the fuel duty. The money has to come from somewhere to fix them.

We know all about this Churchy, try it on a motorbike and it gets even more 'interesting'...

If it is any consolation, HMG are working hard to mitigate the effects of this by ensuring that the traffic jams are so bad, that it is impossible to get up to enough speed for these to cause severe damage. View the air travel chaos as a bonus in all this.

If duty is increased and the money is spent on the roads, fine, I don't have a problem with that!

Reminds me of a holiday in pot-hole ridden Jamaica. We'd jumped a taxi and after five minutes of swerving on the left and right hand sides of the road, my stressed out wife asked "Which side of the road do you drive here?".

The taxi driver calmly replied "The good side".

A1(M) has them too. Appeared practically overnight in all the snow. More disturbingly where some works were done, there is a gap between 2 lanes in one place, a kind of rut. If you change lanes it feels kind of weird.

Cross country to Epson is like taking a 3rd world country road but without the cheap petrol!!!
