Seeing as I don’t know what the woman said, I can’t know whether he’s right.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

Classic. This has cheered my otherwise dull day up no end. Bit of a storm in a tea cup. It's a bit like when Major refered to the bastards. Might well do him some good.

Everybody knows pensioners are bigots, but you can't say it out loud. Especially when you are the Prime Minister.

How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Sir, considering the original hippie generation of the woodstosk years are now pensioners I feel the need to point out that that particular maxim is no longer accurate in our present day world

You can be a hippie and a bigot.

That said, I take your point - most woodstock generation pensioners are unlikely to be racist bigots and withdraw the assertion that all pensioners are bigots (I haven't met them all )

I can't find any coverage which tells us that either, and it's kind of an important part of the story.

                    Meanwhile:

A Conservative Party source said: "Gordon Brown's comments speak for themselves."

                    What does that even mean?
