    Answer these questions to find out if you're a real IT person.

    0. Which is the first computer you wrote a program for?
    1. Which is the first computer you owned?
    2. How many langauges have you seriously programmed in (work or play)?
    3. How many years have you made a living out of IT (programming or otherwise).
    4. Do you enjoy programming or is it a chore?
    5. Do you know what vi is and have you used it?

    And yes, support people, PMs etc etc - you're not real IT people.

    4. Yes, eventhough now I'm an IT architect I still do all codes and doings for my plan B websites.
    5. vi - is a text editor used in Unix/Linux + sadly I know all the commands and shortcut keys !

                    4. it used to be fun, but isn't much any more, except for something new (which comes rarely). Debugging is still a challenge that has its satisfactions.

                    Edit: I see vi has crept in. Yes, I use it often. Firstly, as a contractor I make a point of being good at using all the basic utilities that you will fine at any installation. Secondly, it works just fine for simple editing.
