    Aggressive and Arsey Permies!

Fun morning. Working on an outsource project and have to interview teams as part of a review. Some may and some may not lose their jobs at the end of it.

Most are happy to be interviewed and tell you how well they do, add value etc

Had all the stragglers today, all the ones that had ducked out previously. What a fun day

Comments today along the lines of'

'To be honest, me talking to you is just a waste of my time'
'No, we don't have anything documented or written down, it's all in my head'
'It's none of your business what we do'
'We don't have enough resource to do X, let alone Y that you're asking for'

    and the best

'What do you care for, you're a contractor, you get paid regardless!'

What happens in General, stays in General.
You know what they say about assumptions!

I've been laughing and smiling all day. 'Ha ha, you're so right! Ha Ha'

I'm off to the pub in an hour to start a fight with a litte bloke!

I would keep him. At least he is the only one that has realised the truth!!!!

Everywhere I have been in the last two years have been pleasant to the contractors but having one of us give permies a review would have gone down like a sinking brick. I can't see how any contract can do this without getting this kind of response. Personally I would have done everything to get out of it stating it isn't my place to review permies etc but appreciate it comes with the role at times.

Wouldn't have liked to be in your shoes there!

Last time I had do anything like that, the regional office that gave us most grief was the only office that wasn't under threat of closure, or of having extra work dumped on them. They were only included in the exercise because we wanted to pick up some of their best practices and find out if they wanted to use any of the tools that we were creating as part of the restructure elsewhere. They were the Scotland office, incidentally.

What makes you think that you know their business better than people who worked there for a long time?

I don't. I'm collecting information from them that's all. Some are helpful and some are AtW's!!!
