    Mandelson On The Ropes

    Just now on the Beeb.

He looked old and tired, and although he stuck to the party line, it was clear that all the enthusiasm was gone: he knew he was defeated.

Given that Mandelson has chosen to play the role of Machiavellian genius, watching him fall was nice

Oh no. He's on the Today programme now talking about how the first past the post electoral system is clearly no longer appropriate and electoral reform is needed.

    Lib-Lab pact here we come.

I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

I love the idea of those foul bastards being deprived of something they thought was theirs by right. I went to school with these tulipheads, and the only thing they've ever earned is the need to not get what they think is theirs by right. It's the only way they'll ever learn.

I don't agree with those who argue that they also need to be punched repeatedly in the face. Then again, I can see the merits of such an approach. I am in fact drawn towards saying "Hell, YES!" - and I'm a pacifist.

I think that particular lesson was learned in 1997. We have all learned a great deal since then. The main lesson being that Champagne Socialism does not deliver at any level. Time for change...........the people have spoken. Bye bye Gordon!

They will be lucky to get a majority if the exit poll is to be believed.

That would also be the worse possible outcome for the country - a continuation of the socialist dystopia with a little bit of crazy policy thrown in for good measure

They haven't got enough seats for a Lib-Lab pact !

I thought Mandelson came over OK considering he'd been up all night, he was pretty relaxed and effectively admitted it was bye bye Gordon time.

Now we need the rest of the results before we can do the maths.
