How a Tory-LibDem alliance could work

Lib Dems want electoral reform to play ball.

Dave should offer the single transferable vote (STV) to them if they agree to support Scottish independence. Then the Scots and the English get the governments they want.

The Scots will be run by Labour with SNP as their main opposition. And rid of the Tories. They will also have their own economy to manage as they see fit.

The English will be run by Tories with LibDems and Labour fighting it out to be their main opposition. As Lib Dems and Labour are both fighting for the same leftish ground, the STV will give the Lib Dems more Labour seats than they would otherwise get.

What could be happier all round?

    I'll just put this here...

Cameron should 'experiment' with making a coalition with Brown.

    They could call it Labor-a-tory...

    Hahahahahaha...

Much like a high performance car blasting up the fast lane of the motorway after filling up, accidentally with diesel.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

If the Tory-Libdem alliance goes ahead, the Tories will go along with it until the Libdems get awkward, then they'll call an election and blame the Libdems and wipe out the Libdems, who's voters will already angry at them for joining the Tories.

I keep on saying- Clegg could be the end for the Libdems. He has some huge decisions ahead of him.

Is Brown the high performance sports car or the reliable, efficient fuel used to power industry? You big socialist!

Neither, he's the plonker who filled it up.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

There's a clue in the name "Conservative and Unionist Party".
I agree that Scottish independence would give an big electoral advantage to the Conservatives in England, and since they can't get any support in Scotland they may go down this route. Yet they (as indeed are all the major parties) are still keen to keep Scotland in the union, which makes me suspect Scotland is still of great value to the United Kingdom.
