    what is it with HR???

Get an interview with the beeb on tuesday, tell HR I am a student and need to have Mondays off. HR woman goes into great detail and asks questions, I think she is clear I need Monday's off. She comes back with details of interview, I say 'they know I need Mondays off?' HR woman says I don't know. Anyway after faffing around and about 25 emails later, the answer is no, I can't have Mondays off. HR woman says 'do you still want to go through with the interview'

    FFS!!!

You don't want to work at the Beeb. Absolute tossers, real tossers, worst tossers ever, never met such a bunch of tossers, with tosser outsourcing companies, and tosser project managers who toss about then terminate your tossing contract without so much as a toss!!!!

I remember you tosser PM!!!!! My time will come. IT WILL COME!!!!!

I went to see them once, got the impression the project was a "Death March", decided I didn't want to waste 3 years of my life, no matter how good the rate was.

I have never seen a useful HR department in all my working life. I can’t figure out what they’re for.

Likewise; ‘internal communications’ departments, ‘test expertise centres (usually staffed by people who can’t set up a times tables test, never mind a software test), and ‘lean six sigma blackbelts’, who are usually about 5’6”, overweight and full of tulip.

They're in place to prevent management from f**king up too badly when they boot someone out.

In other words, the management are too f**king incompetent to motivate people to do a good job and then to f**king incompetent to get rid of people properly when that doesn’t work.

Yep. Modern corporate management = fulfill your KPIs without engaging your brain, regardless of whether it actually contributes to the aims of the organization.

There's a lot of truth in that.

                    Sysman's Tip Of The Day:
If you see HR expanding, large scale redundancies are on the way!

(A lot of paperwork is involved, and a fair bit of government money is to be claimed.)
