    Oh dear

BBC News - George Osborne promises spending cuts plan next week

Liberal Democrat David Laws, the chief secretary to the Treasury, said the task ahead was "colossal" and that Labour had left the public finances in an "unacceptable" state.

The reductions would amount to about 1% of government spending, he added.

Mr Laws said his predecessor, Liam Byrne, had left him a letter saying simply: "Dear chief secretary, There's no money left."

I love how CUK members have been clamouring for the Tories to get in, knowing full well they'll have to make big cuts and raise taxes... and will then complain immediately.
You VOTED for tax raises when you voted Tory, everyone . Just keep blaming Gordon...

Not at all dear boy, take off your blinkers. We've already resigned ourselves to the fact that we're in for another 7 years of famine to repair the damage caused by the latest socialist experiment known as "New Labour" - this country is not suited to socialism, never has been, never will be.

I think Spacecadet's comment was somewhat tongue in cheek!

You've got a thing about blinkers. You just wait, not long until CUK is complaining about Tory tax raises, mark my words.

I think you will find that unlike you, NickFitz, tarkers and Dung the rest of us are not redneck partisan supporters of any party. We do however have the intelligence to understand that thanks to your lot the country is in a dire economic state. We also understand that in order to get out of it wealth creation needs to be encouraged and non wealth creation expenditure reduced. So the clamouring has nothing to do with Partisan politics on this board.

We know that there are going to be tax-rises, they won't be "tory" tax rises, they will be tax rises for the good of the country.

I blamed the bankers. Still do actually.
