I’m in danger of agreeing with Sasguru

Too many cretins around here, and too many smart people have flounced. EO and Bogeyman for example.

I'm also bored to death with all this financial markets talk.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

Based on your assertion it would be more likely that you are the former, rather than the latter.

Ok, shall we talk about rugby?

I went to the RFU Junior Vase final at Twickenham on Saturday, where a couple of my mates won.

Really amazing that a minnows cup competition gets to play it's final at HQ.

Damn right that minnows should play their final at HQ. It’s the people who turn up at their local rugby club every week, pay their subs and put money behind the bar that keep the game going, and will continue to keep it going should the big sponsors lose interest. There’d be no elite rugby without the junior clubs, and I should also point out that the standard of rugby shown at that junior vase final can be very high indeed. I remember traveling to HQ with the whole Bedford squad and seeing local minnows Bedford Queens win the Pilkington shield (way back); there were at least 10 players on the pitch who could have been good first class players with the right training.

Yup, it's a shame football doesn't do the same - I guess that would **** up Wembley even more that it is.

IIRC there's a few cricket comps with a final at Lords too.

              All good IMO.

Can we have a list of smart people (flounced and unflounced) and list of cretins.

Start with the former, it should be a lot less work and give you something to cut your teeth on

At least schools rugby is a good standard to watch whereas watching a bunch of junior club players must be dire unless you have a partisan interest. Where was your son? wellington college, Milfield?
