    Mumsnet

I finally got around to looking at this site as I had a query about something.
Did a search on my topic and actually found it rather reassuring and useful

Some of the posters are 'challenging', its true, but when you have a specific question, it can be useful.
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

It is NOT OK to give a baby vodka jellies.

Bad idea - the artificial colourings in jelly can make them hyper.

(See, we can be reassuring and helpful too)

Best to mix the vodka directly in the bottle with the formula. Try not to heat it though as it may explode.

My twin sisters' nanny used to give them each a tot of brandy at bedtime when they were babies.

Worked a treat and, no, they aren't alcoholics today.

Helpful tip: If you go with MFs suggestion, you don't need to bother with sterilising, as the vodka kills the germs.

I breastfed - so i just applied the vodka to myself - it seemed to work, least ways I never noticed if she was awake

I find that as they get older 3/4/5 the vodka doesnt work as well at getting them to bed.

I like to use a feather pillow held firmly, but not tightly over the little darlings faces until they stop struggling. They then sleep all night.

Remember though to pull the pillow up as soon as they stop struggling. If you continue to keep the pillow in place it gets drool on it.
