When I was young The Great Egg Race was a show which encouraged me to want to work in technology, I found it fascinating and years later went on to study, successfully, for a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

My honours in Mech Eng was 5 years, 30 hours of study a week, I worked in the butchers for about 20 hours after that during study, full time at the weekends, and holidays, I am time served as a butcher and learned a trade when at uni.

No, but my boss chopped his finger in half on a mechanical sausage making machine.

Not in half as in top to bottom, in half from nail to knucle.

I only ended up in hospital twice due to cuts and that is well less than average. I tended to use the chain mail gloves/apron as often as was possible.
