    How does one get rid

Of the bad smell in the washing machine that occurs when her indoors has left a load in there for too long?

Run it empty at the maximum temperature for a full cycle. This also clears whiffy drains.

Spray the inside of the machine with half a bottle of her favourite perfume. Tell her that next time it will be a whole bottle. That'll soon lick her into shape and free her from her slovenly ways.

We tried everything. Cups of Soda in a boil wash. Vinegar. More soda. More boiling. Smell would disappear briefly, but return with a vengeance. Eventually we replaced the washing machine. That worked.
