    Day-Rate for ad-hoc, short-term service requests

Just thought of checking what (x/1.5/2 etc) would you look to charge as your day rate for an ad-hoc, extremely short-term (2-3 day) piece of work,

    1. if you are working 150 miles away from where the work needs to be done (meaning you loose that many no of working days income at yr current place of work)..
    2. If you are not working..

I know most of us wouldn't bother to take it up in case 1, but then this comes from an ex-client, with whom I have very good relationship..

If you have a good relationship with the client then 1.5x plus travelling expenses would be ok, IMHO.
Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.
