    The Margins

Some of the most exciting times ever had on a reservoir were drifting a floating fry and hopper (orange of course) in the margins.

Sorry, too many words, I need a rest.

      What's a hopper?

There's usually a lot of ducks and gulls on reservoirs at this time of year. The gulls feed on the refuse on land fill sites, then fly to the reservoir for a paddle. Then we drink the water. Tasty.

Seen any Smew? I do like those birds.

        Remember it well

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Hoppers are more subtle than boobies or nobblers.

Smews visit Dungeness where I caught many a small tench in the shadows of the sound mirrors and the twin magnox and advanced gas cooled atomic power stations.

          Ah so!
