    That'll be the usual rush of bankrupts leaving the south starting a new life in Scotty land, happen in the last recession too. English couple from Portsmouth moved in the house next door many moons ago complete with 2 collies, 2 sheep and 5 hens... in a 1//4 acre plot.

    Recovery positive but fragile
    House prices in the west of Scotland rose sharply in the last three months, reversing recent falls, according to the latest GSPC House Price Survey. The analysis for the survey is conducted independently by Professor Gwilym Pryce of the Urban Studies Department at Glasgow University and includes more transactions in the west of Scotland than any other index (with the exception of the Registers of Scotland).

    The most expensive house I could see in that link is less than 150k. Why is demand increasing for what must clearly be a crap area?

      More importantly why do people compare the cost of a house to quality of living?
