    Sympathy for the piranha

    This article helps to dispel the myth that piranhas are dangerous to humans. The blame for this misplaced notoriety apparently rests with Theodore Roosevelt.

    At these times the piranhas are desperate, and "any animal or human that enters these water bodies would probably be devoured on short notice", wrote Goulding.
