    WTF? France starting up?

Although to be fair to them, they have consistently stood against religion.

    From BBC News

A French newspaper has reproduced a set of caricatures depicting the Prophet Muhammad that have caused outrage in the Muslim world.
France Soir said it had published the cartoons to show that "religious dogma" had no place in a secular society.

Their original publication in a Danish paper last September has led to boycotts and protests against Denmark in several Arab nations.

Islamic tradition bans depictions of the Prophet Muhammad or Allah.

Under the headline "Yes, we have the right to caricature God", the paper ran a front page cartoon of Buddhist, Jewish, Muslim and Christian gods floating on a cloud.

    Good on them.

I think every paper in Europe should do exactly the same in support - not often you'll hear me beating the war drums of the right, but this is absolute and utter b0llocks!

See how many feckin ambassadors Saudi withdraws then and I'd love to see the arab world boycott all European goods. In fact be great if only we could do the same.

Good points Snaw, unfortunately our dependency on Middle East goods such as Oil and Heroin makes that highly unlikely.

Good to see some deserved criticism of that awful Saudi regieme.

Every Briton should feel disgrace at the obscene amount of arms sold to that awful country by the UK.

Ditto with the fact that the Taliban eradicated Heroin production from Afghanistan, sadly the US has turned a blind eye to the Warlords who are now exporting their deadly harvest in massive amounts to the UK.

The war has not created a democracy in Afghanistan but a Narcotocracy.

Another fine mess Mr Blair ...

          Consider.
The problem isn't really that we depend on oil (or heroin).
The problem is that the people who have the oil are peasants, savages and barabarians.

Seen from that angle, there is a simple solution (if not an easy one).
Nuke the middle east into glass and run a pipeline from it into Europe and the USA.
(It might also make Russia reconsider being smart-arses about their access to gas!).

Why do people make things so complicated. Life isn't difficult (with psychosis).

NOTE FOR THE HARD OF THINKING.
The previous posting was intended to be humourous and was not intended to offend those suffering from mental illness, Russians or heroin addicts.
Peasants and barbarians will be offended by everything anyway and so do not receive an apology.
          Why not?

And what would it have been had Afghanistan been left alone? A free market democracy that had clamped down on all drug manufacturing activities, had closed all its terrorist training camps and chucked out/hanged members of AlQuaeda?

There may be a case against the invasion of Iraq, but Afghanistan had to go.

The point is that the US have allowed the Heroin trade to boom this was the price for the Warlords partiicaption in the war against the Taliban.

A US spokeman said at the problem that Heroin exportation was not a big issue for the USA, well yes, but it is for the UK.

And Mr Blair has smugly did nothing to stop the trade for fear of upsetting his future circuit tours of the US , no doubt.

Finally ,wasnt Al Queda a cold war creation of the CIA and MI5, of course in those days we called them Afghan Freedom Fighters.

                    The Norwegians have followed suit.

                    Bet the UK doesn't, though.
