    Chilean Mining Saga

I didn't see a thread on this. It's amazing how little coverage it gets, it's an amazing story. Trapped down there for months, only access for supplies and communication through a bore-hole about 3 inches diameter.

I wonder if the film rights have been bought yet.

It's my idea of hell. I wonder if there is a website where we can send them a message, and possibly help to keep them all going?

They are not trapped in a mine shaft but they are in a safe “room” underground with some facilities. They have food, water and light. There are communications to the surface.

Really? I though it was getting fairly good coverage.

It's going to drag on now though. I do hope they manage to get them all out.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Being trapped in a small room with a bunch of other people for several months is not a big deal? Try staying in your living room for a week and see how you feel. They have food and light but do they have showers, toilets, etc? It's not life threatening, but if anything that makes it worse since they'll just be sitting there.

Just wait for AtW and it will be "In Russia they would gas the miners and eat their children"

She's never been trapped in a small room for several months. If it happens, I'll let you know what she says.

Maybe if they had live cameras and stupid challenges, but that niche was filled long ago.

I suppose its better than the lot of some miners, being stuck in the dark alone, unable to move in a tight space and not knowing if anyone knows you are there but still truly awful. Can't imagine doing that job.
