      no. But there was this church tower we stopped to listen to on the hour. The bells are all made from porcelain, fantastic sound. Reminded me of something Nepalese, why I don't know I've never been!

        It is famous for porcelain, I believe.

        The picture reminds me of Colditz for some reason. And yes, when I looked on Wiki, it seems that Colditz was in the region/county of Meißen.

          Now Colditz is REALLY worth a visit. Seriously, if you get more time scooterscot, the castle museum is a fascinating place.
          Was there in 1994, but I expect it is even better now.

            I spent one year at TU-Dresden back in the late 90s, and I visited Meissen once or twice.

            Very affluent town. Very famous china. Bitter cold, -10C. That's all I remember.
