    Getting the builders in ...

... to do a complete refurb:
    Replace bathrooms
    Bespoke cupboards/wardrobe in every room
Internal redecoration from top to bottom.
Expose existing wooden floors and buff them up.

Basically no expense spared - want a totally modernised house.

    Got a Polish builder obviously.
    Should be fun

Not got your PA to appoint a project management consultancy to deal with it? Times must be hard.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Sorry. Thought this was a euphemism like 'getting the decorators in' but in your case you were saying you were having a penis enlargement.

Why obviously? I had Polish guys work on mine and the work was ok and cheap enough but I paid what I got for. If you are going for such an advanced build do you think your average Polish builder is up to delivering the idea and the quality you are after? I guess this guy is recommended or something? Why are you getting Polish in if there is no expense spared.

I know these high end UK guys that specialise in one off high quality modernisations are expensive but isn't the quality/finish of the work part of it. The recommendations that they can make from experience is invaluable.

I mention it as a friend of a friend spent 70K doing their house up with specialist and it is nothing less than spectacular but they advised on things like TV's you can watch from the bath, the builder recommended some mirror looking flatscreens rather than the ones specified and they are the dogs danglies over what was suggested etc.

This is an established firm of Polish Builders and they came recommended. I've seen their work and it's very good. I don't know what it's like where you are but in London the Poles are no longer the cheap option. Some of them have got established. But they still get labour from Poland and from what I've seen these guys have a better work ethic and seem to be better trained than their native counterparts.

This way you can get rid of said cash by paying said Polish fellas in said cash!

Wow, Wickes will be pleased. Shame it'll be the same pokey bedsit in a rough bit of London.

Still, taking Beeney's advice and trying to "add value" eh?
