Friday Fun - Police Crash Seized Car

Police officers seize high-powered sports car - then crash it into garden wall - Manchester Evening News

Two police officers have crashed in a high-powered sports car after it was confiscated from its driver.

The pair climbed into the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution in Hale while waiting for a recovery truck.

But the officers ended up ploughing the turbo-charged, four-wheel drive car into the gardens of two luxury homes, rolling it on to its side.

Their Daddy the inspector is gonna smack those naughty boys bottoms when he gets them home.
Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.

Heard about this on the news this morning.

SO what seems to have happened is they stopped a guy, then went for a joy ride in his car.

      they should be sacked

        WHS +2

Look at the damage to it. That is not a 30mph aftermath.

It doesn't elaborate in the story as to why they were in it but the fact it was waiting for recovery obviously leads you to think it was nothing more than a joy ride. Last I knew joy riding in someone elses car at speed was illegal.

More likely is that they will sue their employers for "failing to give them adequate training in recovering high performance cars" - no doubt they will claim they "misjudged the acceleration when pulling away"
