Earth survives rare close encounter with two large asteroids - Telegraph

Anyone paying into a pension that pays out after April 13th, 2029 is wasting their money.

My tactic was always to just spin the little spacecraft around and keep my finger on the 'fire' button. Use the thruster sparingly as it's likely to send you hurtling into an asteroid, and once you're moving it's almost impossible to stop. Oh, and avoid the wormholes that dump you in another random part of the screen.

A smack in the ear by a NEO is far more real than any of this AGW toot.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Aye, we'll spend trillions $$$ on reducing Carbon in a pointless exercise trying to control natural climate variation, whilst cutting budgets on monitoring NEO.

Initially, Apophis was thought to have a 2.7 percent chance of impacting Earth in 2029. Additional observations of the asteriod ruled out any possibility of an impact in 2029. However, the asteroid is expected to make a record-setting -- but harmless -- close approach to Earth on Friday, April 13, 2029, when it comes no closer than 18,300 miles above Earth's surface.

Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
