Contractors' Questions: Should a long holiday be on my CV?

    Answer:
taking a month off to sunbathe in Majorca does not project a positive image of a professional contractor capable of delivering work accurately and in a timely or specified period.

WTF? No holidays, even unpaid, or else "it looks bad"?

I think the opposite. It shows that you're good enough at what you do that you can afford to take long holidays. I always try to play that down a bit in interviews because I don't want to rub it in the permie's face that I've been swanning around somewhere nice while he was slaving away.

Just ignore it for the pile of tulipe it is.

I don't see an issue with it and it's non of the clients business IMO.

If I choose to run my operation whereby I work and take large amounts of time off then that doesn't show I'm bad at what I do but simply that I work to live and not the other way around.

Why do you need to mention holidays on a CV?

Exactly. And many permies get 6 weeks a year, so a 1-month holiday is not especially long, it's quite normal.
