Is this the cure for CUK?

Free Time Management Software | RescueTime

lets you specify a period of time you want to focus and the distracting parts of the web are blocked. Voluntary self-discipline!
I don't like the idea of tracking my time though, I expect the results would upset me...

I don't like macs to be honest. I don't like the keyboards, or the screens, or trackpads in general, or the lack of choice in the range, and some features that I would actually want simply aren't available on a mac.

I've been running this for a while and the results are really interesting - you can categorise all your different programs, websites etc into "distracting" or "productive" bands and you can see hourly / daily data

If you are having problems with focus / distractions I'd recommend it. I'd hate to have it forced on me in a corporate envrionment though (their "enterprise" product)

Here's the bit that would save time:

          Voluntarily block distracting sites

Can't be bothered to look for it but wasn't there a a news item recently about how students who used Facebook acheive much lower exam passes? I can well imagine CUK reduces productivity of some of you lot similarly. How can you have paid contracts and spend the time you do on here in the week?

I could get away with it as a permie as well as some contracts where I had very little responsibility and a project/programme manager I could run rings around. Can't do it in current gig though

That is really gutting for us. Still, not as if there are not plenty of other boneheads to amuse ourselves with.

That'll be all of them then. Yet results are getting better.

Do you mean you get work done because there's nothing fun to install on it, forcing you to do work?
