Seeing as the telly is always crap

Here is SY01s film critic thread. Please post any good / bad film reviews in here. I use rottentomatoes and imdb but when they rate a film at 90% plus I often come away quite deflated. Perhaps us contractors need a bit more than a thin plot and some nice boobies to keep us entertained.

    So I'll go first.

Chloe (Liam Neeson, Julianne Moore 2009)

"Synopsis: A doctor hires an escort to seduce her husband, whom she suspects of cheating, though unforeseen events put the family in danger. A doctor hires an escort to seduce her husband, whom she suspects of cheating, though unforeseen events put the family in danger."

A very thin plot with some nice boobies. I was surfing CUK throughout the film much to the annoyance of SY02 and many on here. Some good girl on girl although Julianne Moore is getting a bit long in the tooth for that kind of thing. Some fairly obvious twists and altogether not the psycological thriller it purported to be.

    Worth a miss.
Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.

Quite. Knockers always seem to win over a good argument.

Robin Hood (2010) yesterday - good outdoor scenery, which I like, and a good plot

            Splice (2009) tonight - excellent S.F. film

Recent films or classics? Any kind of genre or other directions?

I really like Duel, which is a bit old but features suspense & action while having (I'd guess) no more than 2min dialogue. I'd definitely put it in the "classic" category, despite there actually being no complex plot.

I made the mistake of watching "Alien vs Predator : Requiem" on Saturday night as it was on C4. I quite enjoyed the first A v P movie in a cheesy popcorn kind of way but I really wish I hadn't of bothered with this one.

Taken, another Liam Neeson one. Ex-CIA type bod's daughter is kidnapped in Paris. He's goes to find her. Loved it. Pleasant surprise wasn't expecting too much. Lots of action, no boobs

KickAss - 2010 - Super hero comedy - 9/10, Rated 18. Worth the hour and a half. Lots of action, loads of laughs.
