Whats Most Important For You When Signing A Contract? Rate/Work/Location?

I just wondered what people on here look at what reviewing roles?

What takes precedence? Would you take a 650 a day role doing something that drove you to boredom?

Or a 500 a day working on new java/c# stuff?

Is it fair to say that all jobs have their own problems and the grass is never greener on the other side?

What are the attributes that you look at carefully before deciding on a role(or a jump)

1st ) Me and Mrs scooter live in the same place....

2nd) I'm anybodies bit$h if the money is right

3rd) Having trouble with conscience right now, really liking Berlin but a conflict with new client and point number 2 is making us think twice.

      1. Location not that fussed, as long as its London Mrs SM would happily travel if needed, she can get a job anywhere in her business.
      2. Rate, I'd drop to £500 if I could learn new stuff that was relevant.

At the end of the day it's a formula involving all the things you mention, its up to you how important each factor is in the whole scheme of things.

My latest client started off offering me my best rate ever but was in London so needed a hotel/train ticket. Worked out the same as my last rate when all things considered.

I did drop my rate by £50 on the premise that I got to work from the depot that is 3.3 miles from my house, nice country roads all the way there zero chance of getting held up. I do 4 days a week for these guys allowing me to work with other clients and they let me choose any 4 days as long as Wednesday is one of them.

I'm more of a location person than rate. Its only money and you can't take it with you.
