Ice wall climbing - has anyone done it

Thinking of taking a short trip to Iceland for a spot of ice wall climbing, has anyone done this??

Well you looked so stylish I thought you batted for the other camp - thats like the ultimate compliment!

I couldn't imagine you ever having a hair out of place!

I didn't know you literally had to go to Iceland to do Ice wall climbing.

Yes, and in Iceland too, great fun. I assume you have at least some winter climbing experience!?

no exp, but apparently none needed, its a hike on a glacier, and then a spot of climbing...

You may never make it more than 20ft off the ground!

Should still be fun. I took the snow mobiles up the glacier while there, visibility was 0, and I mean zero, temperatures plummeted, 5 yanks had panic attacks and had to be rescued, after 10 minutes I couldn't operate the accelerator properly because my hand was frozen, awesome, I do like countries that don’t do the old ‘elf and safety!

£7 for a pint of viking was a bit of a mare tho'

It's great fun, but using crampons and ice axes takes some getting used to and isn't activity your muscles will be any way used to.

Calves, forearms and back muscles will make their presence known.
