Is Christmas a good time to look for a new job?

In theory it should be. Becaus of all the people who at christmas parties got fired/dismissed because they punched their manager/annoying colleague or they made a pass at the sexy brunette on the third floor (who happened to have a secret relation with your line manager).

It should be the best time of the year for a new contract/job.
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.

Of course it is a good time, everyone winding down, not initiating new work or new requests, putting everything off until next year, lots of people off on holidays...

Yes it is a fantastic time... Fill your boots...

You need to be pro-active around the festive season. It's best to telephone agents and customers directly, using their mobile numbers. And you should do this on Christmas Day.

I've seen Next, Boots and Superdrug are looking for Christmas temp staff.

Seems like a lot of temp roles around.
