John Maynard Keynes' biographer, Lord Skidelsky tells Robert Miller that the economist would have been astounded at the economic illiteracy of the coalition government.

This government is on a hiding to nothing whatever they do. They can do no right. Still, at least people can blame the Liberals for what is to come too.

I suspect that is a major reason why Cameron was keen to get the LibDems on board.
