    Edible salad recipe

Not only edible, but quite tasty:
    • Bag of mixed vegetables - these comprise the salad
    • Pepperami stick cut up into small chunks - these comprise the meaty flavour
    • Cheese cut into small cubes - this seems to go quite nicely with salad & salad cream
    • A pickled onion or two likewise diced
    • Copious salad cream - makes the salad edible even on its own
    • Today I happened to have some potato salad too - so in that goes
    • Add anything you like. Meat is nice, but don't allow meat be an excuse to skimp on the salad. Tomatoes possibly. Damn forgot I had some of those in the fridge and they might not have gone bad yet
    • Stick 'em all in a bowl and mix, using an implement is best as salad cream takes a bit of washing off one's hands and you will not be able to type while eating unless one uses a non-dominant hand for either one of these tasks

That must be 5 a day all in one dose at least. Healthy too. Perhaps not as filling and tasty as meat, but as it isn't meat that is too much of an expectation. I find you can pretty much ignore the sell by date (but not smell by date), though the salad starts tasting a bit funny as it goes sludgy.

    Bon Appetite!

I'm hungry again now. It might be worth cooking a steak for dessert

Sounds delicious. Might be enhanced by the addition of some sundried tomatoes, olives, and a sprinkling of chilli flakes.

Oh yes, olives are great, as are gherkins. Usually these don't last long though here as I tend to consume the whole jar shortly after purchase, as with for example beetroot and cockles. Of course the pickled onions should be Garner's. I'll give tomatoes and chilli flakes a try at some future date.

Sounds nice and not too much work. The kitchen plumbing takes a bit of a fat hammering with the water used to cook the minced beef though, in my experience.

I am experimenting with an alternative. If I can get my aim and timing right, a Siamese cat with big balls might take it back to his place, stuck to his fur.
