    Arctic ice

I know its weather and not climate, but the arctic ice has made a dramatic comeback this autumn.

Polar bears under threat because the ice is too thick

    ICE AGE PANIC!

    PANIC!

Quick, get down the local store and buy blankets, camping gaz and tinned soup! NO, wait, I'm going first!

    PANIC!

I hope we're not heading for another ice age. Well, strictly speaking we are still in one, but you know what I mean.

Still an ice age in our house since I rolled in blotto at stupid O'Clock last Saturday morning.
Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.

A Massive Winter Heading for the Northern Hemisphere? | Planetary Theory Moves to the Next Level

So the stage is set for one of the most interesting natural experiments, nearly all the cool players are in place with the exception of the Atlantic Oscillation (AMO) still not in its cool phase. I predict the extra boost from my predicted solar grand minimum along with the current oceanic conditions the next northern winter will experience conditions similar to the Little Ice Age (1250-1850).
            I'm alright Jack

Well I've taken precautions. I've brought the little citrus tree and the olive tree indoors already as the first frost is expected this week. Shall stock up on paraffin to keep the basil warm in the coldframe.

We are currently in an interglacial period, so it's bound to get progressively colder at some point.

I thought I'd give my recently bought thermals and (thin) fleece a try out yesterday evening, as it was about 11 degrees C outside. I felt reasonably pleased with their performance as I was able to walk in reasonable comfort without a jacket, until I saw teenagers walking around in t-shirts.
