KIRKLEES Council spends the third highest amount of local authorities in the country on what the TaxPayers’ Alliance calls ‘non-jobs’.

New figures show the council paid out nearly £700,000 last year to diversity officers and European officers.

Only Birmingham and Huntingdonshire councils spent more.

The council also has eight diversity officers, costing £370,790 last year.
