How many IT contracts/jobs have you had?

Redid my CV a few days ago. Been working since 1995, contracting since 1998. First two jobs from University were perm, then went contracting.

Specialised in short-term contracts for 3 years. I was surprised to find that I had 30 different clients on my CV.

So in absolute terms, total number of contracts ladies & gentlemen?

I like some of people on this board, however I find that general lack of loyalty on this site is disturbing

There is an implied value judgement in the answers available to the question that more gigs = better contractor.

I managed to hold down a gig for 5 years when I was on a damn good rate. Surely that is not A Bad Thing.

And as a PM, having wodges of gigs is surely A Bad Thing, suggesting one is not capable of seeing the job through. (Like me. )

What kind of loyalty were you after? A 5% discount on duplicate posts? 1p back for each recycled joke? A swipe card you give to Admin so the mods can accumulate statistics about you?

Not sure about that. Neither agree or disagree.

More contracts could mean you're good at interviewing but no good at keeping them! A five year gig though(to me) defines a perm job(albeit in your case contracted).

Maybe - average length of contract is another determinate.
