anyone know how to do ping on Suns,

I think this M9000 is taking the p when I run ping....

I was hoping to see the IP address

That is the funniest thing I've heard all week.

I remember back in the 90's, a manager at one IB saying to a group of us, "I want to be able to replace all those windows PC's out there with Sun workstations"

I was expecting a fascinating post about Betelgeuse and Sirius and the fate of the Universe as we know it, or something.

But with Milan posting, I might have known it would be about .Net

ping -s will do what you are expecting.

You don't need to run nslookup as root, you just need to make sure it's in your path or use the full path (/usr/sbin/nslookup)
