Last time I read this sort of stuff, I was told I had to take a 15% cut in rate, or leave.
Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.

Look, it's like this - some take a cut in otherwise massive bonus they did not earn in the first place, others have to take a cut in their basic rate/salary to make up for it.

Do try to keep your jealousy in check. If Google offered you $100m for M12 you'd snap it up, you wouldn't give it away because you "didn't deserve it".

It's not a question of size of money pot, it's whether you earned it - bankers don't earn money, they "make" them by mostly engaging in activities that go against human progress - I don't see many City firms investing money into UK tech startups for example.

But those who work in our industry understand full well that there is no such thing as an 'average banker'
Quite. Each one of them is brilliantly special in their own special way.
